Spring Chickens

The Rowan children have been learning about the seasons, and have found out all about what happens in the Spring - including chicks!  They folded paper fans for the body, and made springy legs from strips.

The class have learned about the weather, and have thought about what types of clothes you wear during different times of the year.  In this picture, they have painted the people wearing lots of layers, woolly hats, scarves and gloves.  They got to try on lots of different clothes and talk about when they would wear them.

Rowan class have had lots of opportunities to go out in the snow and frost this year and talk about what happens to their bodies when it is very cold.  They have experimented with ice and seen how long it takes to melt.

During their weather topic, the children went outside and experimented with bags in the wind.  They know about hot air rising and used balloons covered with tissue paper to make their own hot air balloons.  They folded paper for the basket which they had coloured in a pattern.

Mr Wolf's Week

Mr Wolf has a busy time and has to dress for the changing weather in this story which also teaches the days of the week.  Click on the thumbnails to see the paintings of Mr Wolf dressed for rain, fog, snow, wind, sun and heat.
