A message from the Chairman of Governors
Hello! I'm Liz Jump -
local Vicar and Chair of Governors at Honington Church of England
Voluntary Controlled Primary School. I am pleased
to be involved with the school in this way, as I really believe in the
importance of education and in the place of the church locally and
nationally in supporting and helping to provide the very best for all
children.
Honington School was founded
by the church over 135 years ago and the partnership between church and
school is still strong today. We are a very fortunate school having
a dedicated and talented team of staff who give more than could be expected
of them in order to provide the very best education for the children of
the surrounding villages and the RAF station.
Our school is truly a village
school, seen by all in the community as the heart of the village.
Many of our older residents attended the school themselves and love to
hear the children at playtime. There is always great interest in,
and support for, the activities of the school and this is echoed in the
interest and support the school gives to the community.
Education is unquestionably
about numeracy and literacy, and all the other measurable things that we
do. It is also about so much more. About life and how to live
it, about developing a love for knowledge and learning and about allowing
children to become the best they can be, in their own unique way.
Honington CEVCP School is a safe and caring environment that values each child
as an individual and aims to give them the very best education in every
way possible, and I am proud to be a part of that.
